Comments: This nebulosity is just east of the more famous M8, Lagoon Nebula. It is often overlooked for its more glamorous neighbor. This nebula has many interesting features in and of itself such as a large HII cloud with reflection nebulae around its eastern fringes and and interesting snake-like dark nebula in the central portion. North is up in this image.
