Comments:  The Trifid Nebula is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful objects in the heavens.  Its composition of emission, reflection and dark nebulae make a dramatic image.  This region of the Milky Way galaxy is abundant with hydrogen gas and numerous faint emission nebulae can be seen when imaged through a hydrogen-alpha filter.
