Comments: This image was taken with a different telescope than my wider field image. The image scales are comparable. Each has its own differences and yet the galactic detail is similar despite the marked aperture difference. The spiral dust lanes near the core are still easily seen despite my usual poor atmospheric seeing. Also, this image has hydrogen-alpha data added to bring out the HII regions in the star forming areas of the arms. Here's the core as seen through the prepetual Idaho subpolar jetstream.
