Comments:  This large hydrogen II region in Cygnus lies just to the east of Deneb (alpha-Cygni).  Although difficult to see visually, even with a narrow band filter, it is readily captured by both CCD and film.  Its common name comes from the fact that it has a resemblance to the bird.  A larger version can be seen here
